Because you broke your screen, even if it is under warranty, Apple charges around $800 to replace a screen on a Macbook.

For us to replace the screen on your 13-inch Macbook, we charge $299. With this price you get same-day service (we would be able to fix your computer today if you are available), a 120-day warranty that protects against defects, and a 6-month warranty that if you happen to break your screen again it would only cost $100 to fix it. Part of the deal is that we come to you, so pick a time, date, and place that would be able to have the screen repair done and we'll try to make it work (repairs take between 30-45 minutes)
